"Two Thousand X-ray Stars in the Central 20 pc of the Galaxy"

Dr. Mike Muno
MIT
Note: Special day and time
I will be presenting the stellar X-ray sources detected during 600 ks of Chandra observations of the field around Sgr A*. I will discuss the nature of these point sources, the amount of flux they contribute to the diffuse Galactic X-ray emission, and how they might be used to understand the star formation history at the Galactic center.

Monday, December 16th at 2:00 p.m.
Seminar is scheduled to be held in F235 of the Tech Building, due to current renovations at Dearborn Observatory.

Refreshments will be served at 1:30
