"How Outflows Reveal and Assist Accretion Onto Black Holes: Quasar Case"

Prof. Daniel Proga
University of Colorado

I will summarize recent developments in modeling of mass outflows from accretion disks in active galactic nuclei. I will discuss how the hydrodynamical and magnetohydrodynamical wind structures revealed in numerical simulations relate to observations. In particular, I will present synthetic line profiles predicted by the simulations and compare them with observations of broad line quasars.

Tuesday, November 30th
Seminar is to be held at 4:00 PM in the conference room
on the second floor of Dearborn Observatory

Refreshments will be served at 3:30
